This template was discovered in a discussion on the [[Hex forums|Hex Discord]] from November 3-17, 2023. While checking the below width-21 template, the user Comonoid first proposed checking whether there is a width-19 template if the carrier is wide enough. The user Mason came up with the final shape of the template on November 4 and first proved its validity. Minimality was subsequently verified by a collaboration among several users, with Quasar finishing the final case on November 17.

Seventh row edge templates with one stone

These templates have not yet been assigned a permanent name, since more templates are being actively discovered at the time of this writing.

Edge template VII-1-TBA

This template was discovered in a discussion on the Hex Discord from November 4-6, 2023. The user Comonoid first noticed that KataHex seemed to indicate that the red stone was connected within this carrier. The validity and minimality of the template was subsequently verified in a collaborative effort by a several users using MoHex.

Edge template VII-1-TBA

This template was discovered in a discussion on the Hex Discord from November 3-17, 2023.

Edge template VII-1-TBA

This template was discovered in a discussion on the Hex Discord from October 7 until November 8, 2023. After Eric Demer's discovery of edge template VI1b on October 6, the user Bobson noticed that this could likely be turned into a single-stone 7th row template. He found the first such pre-template on October 13; it had width 32, but was of course not initially known to be minimal. Bobson subsequently reduced the width to 23 cells on October 14, and to 21 cells on October 27. Subsequently a number of Discord users collaborated to check minimality, which was finally verified on November 8. In the process, several other single-stone 7th row templates of smaller width, but with differently shaped carriers, were also discovered.

Seventh row edge templates with two or more stones

There are many sixth row edge templates with two or more stones — too many to list them all. Some of them can be found on Peter Selinger's template page.
