Jack van Rijswijck is a computer scientist and a mathematician originating from the Netherlands. He obtained a M.Sc. degree and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at University of Alberta. He has got a strong interest in board games, particularly Hex.

Jack van Rijswijck is also known under the nickname javhar.

His Ph.D. thesis Set Colouring Games was obtained in 2006 under the supervision of Ryan Hayward.

Hex Playing Program

Jack's program Queenbee participated in ICGA's 2000 computer olympiads and finished second behind Hexy. Queenbee was the subject of the master thesis of Jack van Rijswijck.
