Jack van Rijswijck is a computer scientist and mathematician originating from the Netherlands. He obtained an M.Sc. degree and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Alberta. He has a strong interest in board games, particularly Hex.
Jack van Rijswijck is also known under the nickname javhar.
His Ph.D. thesis Set Colouring Games was completed in 2006 under the supervision of Ryan Hayward.
Hex Playing Program
Jack van Rijswijk's program Queenbee participated in ICGA's 2000 Computer Olympiad and finished second behind Hexy. Queenbee was the subject of Jack's master's thesis.
